Mount Everest Eats People

150 people were climbing Mount Everest this weekend. This weekend Everest claimed four lives. There was a traffic jam due to the high number of climbers this weekend. This may have been a cause of the deaths. Climber had to wait to heads up the trail; they spent too much time at the high altitude.  Many of them were carrying a limited supply of oxygen.  The climbing conditions had been treacherous due to the heavy snowfall and strong winds. One of the climbers died on the way down the mountain, others were just exhausted, also suffered from altitude sickness. One of them had been reported as missing but later reached base camp.

A Gal survives Flesh Eating Monster

A 24 year old woman had a flesh eating bacteria and survived it.  Aimee has lost a leg and part of her abdomen to the bacteria and may have a chance to lose more. Aimee was going down a homemade zip line when it snapped. This left her with a large gash in her left calf, it took 22 staples to close. A few days later the pain continued so a friend too Aimee to the emergency room, she was then diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, she was flown to Augusta for surgery. Bucket List for a Baby

A married couple in Texas, Mike and Laura Canahuati have a six-month old baby (Avery) who has been diagnosed with a genetic disorder. Avery has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type One. One in 6,000 babies are born with type on of SMA.  Because of the disorder the doctors say she is expected to die by the age of two. The couple started a bucket list for Avery. Millions of people keep up with their blog about Avery’s bucket list every day. The blog is written in first person was if Avery is writing it. The Red Putter

The Red Putter is opening once again today! The Red Putter is an 18 hole mini golf course with many obstacles to putt around. The Red Putter holds a Red Putter Pro Tournament on the first Saturday of August! The Red Putter is Door County’s oldest mini-gold course. Bob owner of the Red Putter has been opening every spring for over 40 years. He is one of the biggest reasons why people return every year. Stolen baby

Kala Golden was wounded by multiple gunshots, but yet she made an attempt to save her 3 day old kidnapper. Unfortunately Kala later died in the hospital one a few hours later.  A 30 year old registered nurse stole the baby and shot Kala. The nurse is facing charges in Golden’s death. The baby was found 6 hours later. Kala was taking her baby home; when she got to the hospital parking lot she was shot. Later on the shooter admitted to shooting and taking the baby. Investigators found the baby at a home in north Harris County. The defendant had told police that the baby was being taken there.

73 selling drugs

An elderly woman, 73 year old Darlene Mayes is known to be one of Oklahoma’s biggest drug kingpins. Police entered her house and found 4 bags of pot and 276,000 cash in bundles of 15,000. She told police that it was part of her retirement fund.  Investigators say she was selling pot in four different states Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. Police say she supplies up to 40% percent of the pot in this area. Her son was also involved in the network, he was also arrested. Police say that Mayes may have been the captain of this network for over 20 years.

Justin Bieber falls for Afton Greenwood

In recent news Justin Bieber broke up with Selena Gomez and came on a wild goose chase to find Afton Greenwood. He flew form California all the way to a little town called Door County. Justin came into Gibraltar High where Afton goes to high school and busted down the door to sweep her off her feet! Justin Bieber later asked Afton to go steady, they ended up living in Ellison Bay with Afton's father Adam and their dog Rusty. Two months later Justin asked Afton to get hitched, the moved back to California and had a happy 28 year engagement. They finally made it official on April 15, 2040. Justin Bieber dies shortly after.

Hailey Dunn

Human remains were found in Texas, they could possibly be Hailey Dunn’s. Hailey Dunn disappeared more than a year ago. Police announced that they had found human remains less than one mile away from Hailey’s mother’s boyfriend at the time, Shawn Adkins. This brought the case back up, during the police investigation Adkins was put though three lie detectors, he failed them all. The night Billie Jean Dunn’s daughter disappearance the couple went to the ATM machine and took $140 to buy illegal narcotics that night. Adkins later told a witness of the investigation that killing a young girl was like “killing a deer”.

Child Fingers Found in Trash Bin

Child finger found in a trash bin at a housing complex. The finger were found around a month ago says the Honolulu Police Department. They are testing to determine that the fingers are a child’s. The fingers are supposedly girls from the age of 2 and a half to 4 years old. There were six fingers found in the trash bin. Gina Rose Vendegna found the fingers in a zippered plastic bag, she said she accidently mistook them for ginger root and took them home. When she got home she realized that they were finger and not ginger root. There have been no evidence to who’s finger they were.

Shooting at a Jacksonville High School

A former employee of Episcopal High School in Jacksonville Florida came back to the high school on Tuesday and shot and killed the headmistress then killed himself. Shane Schumerth was fired the Tuesday before, he returned the next Tuesday with a gun.  He shot Dale Regan who was only 63 years old. Regan had worked at the school for more than 30 years. No students were hurt during the shooting. The school was put on lock down but the students though it was just a drill. A few minutes into the lock down students in one class started getting text messages saying that someone had been shot.

Shooting at Chardon High School

Shooting at Chardon High School early Monday morning. TJ Lane opened fire shooting five students, four boys and one girl. The shooting occurred in the cafeteria around 7:40 a.m. before classes had started.  One of the teachers chased and student shooter away from the building. Later Lane surrendered and now he is cooperating with the police he is said to be “sick.” He is to make his first appearance in court on Tuesday afternoon. Three of the victims all died at the MetroHealth Medical Center. The other two victims were sent to the Hillcrest Hospital one is still in critical conditions and the other had been released.

Small Plane and Helicopter Collision

Two pilots in California collided in midair on Sunday night. The helicopter clipped the small plane in sky, this sent both aircrafts plummeting to the ground. The plane went down 8 miles from the Rio Vista airport. The pilot had nothing but a scratch on his hand. By the time firefighter had arrived to the sight the air plane pilot was already sitting in a car ready to leave. No medical assistance was needed for either pilot. Both of the pilots were conscious the entire time. Neither of them thought it was necessary to go to the hospital.  They are both extremely lucky to be alive and be able to walk.

Deaf Girl kept in a Cellar for Almost a Decade

A deaf girl was kept in a cellar; she was raped and beaten for almost a decade. This took place in the U.K. She is deaf  and only 19 or 20 years old. She was brought to the northern city of Manchester to work as a domestic servant at age 10. She was kept as a sex slave by a couple, 83 year old man and 66 year old woman are now facing charges: human trafficking, sexual offenses, violence benefit fraud and false imprisonment. She was allegedly forced to work for no money, sleep on a concrete floor in a cellar sexually abused and hit with a rolling pin. The girl was rescued in 2009.

Josh Powell Blows Himself and Children Up

 Josh Powell was named the person of interest in Susan Powell, his wife’s disappearance in 2009. The couples son’s had been placed with Susan’s Parents after Josh’s father Steve had been arrested with charges of voyeurism and child pornography. Josh was not allowed to have the custody of his children back until he did a psychosexual evaluation and polygraph test. The children would remain with Susan’s parents until Josh’s next hearing. Josh would be allowed supervised visitations rights twice a week. The two son’s and a CPS worker were on their way to see josh when the boys entered the house he shut the door and locked it with the CPS worker still outside. The Cps worker smelt gas and stepped away from the house, it exploded moments later. The case worker was not harmed.  Firefighters arrived and found three bodies. Police are waiting for verification but they are believed to be Josh Powell’s and his two sons. 

A group of high school girls who go to school at Leroy High School, in the state of New York have suddenly developed a tic, they developed suddenly and out of the blue. One girl was brought to the hospital after she woke up from a nap and started involuntary ticking. There have been 15 people total all but one were girls. They have been looking for possible environmental causes, the team test local ground samples for answers. The team is looking into the possibility of a train wreck that happened many years ago that leaked a solvent called trichoroethene which could be affecting these girls. Doctors have diagnosed them with a stress disorder.

9 Year old escapes her kidnapper

A man kidnapped a 9 year girl in Colorado Springs; they were involved in a car accident. The kidnapper and girl asked for a ride to a local gas station when she told the clerk she needed the phone to call her uncle, when she actually called 911 to report that she had been taken, she told the man that "no I aint going anywhere with you I'm waiting for my mama." After looking into this more he may be help responsible for another assault, he took his ex-girlfriend’s daughter out of school and brought her back when school ended. Her mother called a local television station and said her daughter was touched inappropriately.

3 year old denied a transplant

Ameila Rivera is only three years old and needs a transplant. The Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia denied her from being able to receive on due to her condition, she has Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome it is a very rare condiotion.  The doctor refused to give Amelia the transplant because she is “mentally retarded.’ Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrom affects her mentally and physically. She is unable to walk and talk due to her medical condition.
